thirty bees as a company

2018-08-23T08:05:10-06:00May 2nd, 2017|

I wanted to take a minute to talk about thirty bees as a company, what we are and what we are not. Our thoughts, our principals, and part of our path forward. We are starting out as a fork, but we are not going to let that define us. Our code base, code style, and vision is moving forward quickly. We want to make our merchants successful and to do that we have to make tough decisions that can affect our revenue and thirty bees as a company.   Our core principals We have several core principles for thirty bees, but [...]

Translation Progress

2018-08-23T08:05:56-06:00April 30th, 2017|

Over the past couple of weeks translations have been a hot topic here at thirty bees. We are trying to figure out which ones are a priority and which ones we think we can support. Ideally we would like to be able to support all the translations, but some are harder to find community members that speak / write in those languages. So we cannot guarantee that we can be translated into every language. But we are trying. So far this is where we stand. Most Translated Languages English Dutch Italian Lithuanian Languages with greater [...]

Feature Requests

2018-08-23T08:06:25-06:00March 7th, 2017|

One of the main goals of thirty bees is maintaining transparency between the developers, the merchants, and the community. We think having open feature requests are a great way to handle this.  We can make guesses at which features we think will benefit merchants, but in the end they will be just guesses. That is why we have the feature request section on our site. We are giving you the ability to shape the future of thirty bees!   How does it work? You can simply go to our feature request page and look through the current requests and vote on [...]

thirty bees: Translations

2018-08-23T08:06:31-06:00February 25th, 2017|

Unfortunately we had to pack the first version without translations, but we are happy to announce that they have been restored by now. In fact, you can download them right away from this page: https://translations.thirtybees.com/ How did we restore them so quickly, you ask? We now have our own CrowdIn project where everyone is free to make contributions to the translations. Thanks to CrowdIn we were able to recover most of the sentences via its translation memory. We have also already seen contributions from Nick N. (multicsales), Havouza, bitfork, yanivmirel, Alex (Allba), Marcelo Livramento (molivramento), vovanych and okom3pom. Thank you very much for [...]

thirty bees: Speed Enhancements

2018-08-23T08:06:38-06:00February 23rd, 2017|

One of the major improvements we have touted about thirty bees is the speed increases we have achieved. When we started digging into the codebase we saw there was a lot of room for improvement. We encountered a lot of buggy unoptimized code. We have worked on fixes both the bugs and adding much needed speed to the thirty bees as well. Today we are going to talk about some of the improvements we have made with the speed and how we have done them.   Backoffice Speed The speed of the backoffice has been dramatically improved because we took out [...]

thirty bees 1.0.0 released

2018-08-23T08:07:30-06:00February 16th, 2017|

After months of work the day is finally here. thirty bees is now stable enough for release. We would like to thank all of the community members that made this release possible. And give a big thanks to Michael Dekker who has handled most of the code and is laying out the development path we are taking. If you cannot wait to test thirty bees version 1.0.0 out you can download it here. What have we done? We forked the PrestaShop 1.6 codebase, then upgraded most of the code (scanning for bugs) and removed about 2000 bugs in the process. Then started [...]

What is thirty bees

2018-08-23T08:07:22-06:00January 17th, 2017|

thirty bees is a shift in the market. thirty bees is what happens when you do not listen to a community. What thirty bees is, is a fork of PrestaShop. A lot of developers in the PrestaShop ecosystem have decided that PrestaShop can no longer handle their needs. In this we have decided to start working on another project using the PrestaShop code. What is a fork? PrestaShop is open source, that means as long as you respect the license and the licensing terms, you can take the code and use it under a different project. This is the beauty of open [...]
