Elasticsearch: another (quick) beta

2018-08-23T07:42:05-06:00November 20th, 2017|

Here's a quick third beta of the module. Due to the high complexity of this search module we have decided to release betas more often and allow you to test more. Since beta 2 a lot of progress has been made when it comes to theme support. Currently these themes are supported: Community default theme Transformer theme Panda theme Warehouse theme (partially - lacking the list option) The non-default themes come with a lot of configuration options, which is great, because that allows you to personalize these themes as much as you like. This comes at the cost of performance, [...]

Elasticsearch: the beta continues

2018-08-23T07:42:57-06:00November 15th, 2017|

The second beta of the Elasticsearch module is now available! We noticed that the first beta was too hard to configure to make it run on most systems so we have worked very hard to support a multitude of systems via the ajax proxy option. This makes the module work out-of-the-box on Cloudways (thirty bees cloud) for example. Together with support for more systems we have added tons of features, finally making the module feature-complete with the second beta. Let's not keep you waiting, here is a short video of what a fully configured search page of the module looks [...]

Elasticsearch module beta

2018-08-23T07:43:33-06:00October 18th, 2017|

We are proud to announce that our Indiegogo funded Elasticsearch module is now stable enough to be beta tested by our community. If you have a development version of your site and would like to provide feedback on the module, we need you. I would like to say again, this module is a beta version, it is not stable enough for and does not have the all the features you will need in production. That being said, lets get to testing. What is Elasticsearch? In case you haven't been following the search topics on the forum and our Indiegogo project, Elasticsearch is [...]

thirty bees 1.0.3 has been released!

2018-08-23T07:53:16-06:00August 17th, 2017|

In an attempt to release faster we are currently trying smaller but more frequent updates. It turned out to be very hard to switch to this new schedule. As you can see on GitHub we are actually 25 days late, but as always we have decided to postpone the release to lower the chances of releasing something unstable. The major reason for this delay is that wanted to merge as many of your contributions as possible. Therefore we have allowed more issues and pull requests into 1.0.3 than originally planned, but most of all we have completely rewritten the integration with [...]

Translations have been automated + Crowdin in-context

2018-08-23T07:53:53-06:00August 17th, 2017|

It is something has been on our mind for quite a while, but we unfortunately never found a good way to merge your Crowdin translation contributions into the thirty bees code. Until now! With Crowdin's awesome CLI tool we have managed to build a brand new integration with Crowdin. One that can ensure a maximum of ONE HOUR delay before your (accepted) contribution on Crowdin makes it into the current version of thirty bees and can be downloaded from here: https://translations.thirtybees.com/. If you need to add translations before putting a store live, you can even simply update the texts on Crowdin [...]

thirty bees 1.0.2-beta.1

2018-08-23T08:00:45-06:00June 28th, 2017|

This week we originally wanted to release 1.0.2 without a beta, but after we looked back at what has changed, we have decided to first release a beta version. On GitHub you can see that there are hardly any files that have been left untouched: https://github.com/thirtybees/thirtybees/compare/1.0.1...1.0.x Why are there so many changes, you might ask? The first and foremost reason to fork the other software was to fix bugs. Not only were there a lot of bugs, there was a lot of so-called technical debt as well. This means that we have not only worked on adding new features and improving the [...]

Upgrade your workflow: develop with Vagrant

2018-08-23T08:02:01-06:00June 12th, 2017|

We've had the free module series, the thirty bees (compatibility) partner series and here's a new one: the "Upgrade your workflow" series. During the development of thirty bees we have come across many ways to speed up our development. We had to, since we are still a relatively small team, compared to what has to be produced. That made us very creative and also made us spend quite a lot of time on automation and workflow improvement. With these blog posts we want to share the valuable information we have found... with you! These posts can get pretty technical and are [...]

New module: No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA

2018-08-23T08:03:18-06:00May 25th, 2017|

Although this one has been quite a while on the native module list in your back office, we hadn't announced it's availability, yet. So here goes! A lot of users have been complaining about spammers for a while. At the moment it is easy to grab the URL of a contact form an spam a merchant. This module allows you to add a captcha to the login form, the registration form, the password forgotten form, the contact form and the back office login. By adding a captcha it is no longer possible to automatically create accounts, spam the contact form [...]

New module: Cookie Consent

2018-08-23T08:03:25-06:00May 19th, 2017|

A feature that has been requested for a quite a while, but was never available with the Advanced EU Complaince is a module to comply with the EU cookie law.
