Unique Reference id – on products and combinations.

Feature to be able to enable unique reference

We are using an integration tool, to our stock management system/economic system, and for this to work like intended unique reference id’s are required.

My wish/request would without doubt be a feature to allow to turn on unique reference id’s so we can avoide getting duplicates, this would be a bit tricky because the reference needs to be unique both for main products and combinations, so a combination should never be allowed to have same reference ad the main product, or other products.

The thing here is most products got a unique reference number, for every different color, or size, and this is so it’s easy to pack and send out.

To avoide conflicts it would be wize to do a dublicate check, so that you can change the values before enabling it.

Image optimization

Most of us knows how important image optimization is when it comes to the end.

Today there is not a good way of optimizing images, i know that the integration of ImgMagic dos abit vs GD.

But i am thinking why not build in something like https://wordpress.org/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/ that can be enabled on servers that are able to optimize images via thos small programs.

And then have an alternative integration to something like kraken.io for thos hu cant use the small programs, like EWWW dos for wordpress.

That way it would be possible to optimize the images, and that would in the end give even better loading speeds, and better work flow, that you dont have to do the optimization manual before uploading, and even making sure generated thumbs are optimized to.

In general there is a lot of space to be saved, and performance gained from creating a module like this.

Better integration of combinations

I am still quite new to prestashop, it’s less than 2½ month ago i started working with it because we bought a couple of web shops.

One of the things that i hate about prestashop, is with doubt the way product combinations are handled right now, I don’t feel there is a clear view about what products got combinations.

I got 2 ideas to help out with this issue, either a new product overview, where you can expand the mother product, like a tree view, where you then can see the combinations.

Or simply just adding a column to the table view, that shows an info about how many combinations a product got, this would speed up productivity.

Im tirred of having to dig around or use mysql to figure out what products got combinations, it’s time for a change.
